A fresh trailer for Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil has landed, offering another look at the film ahead of its September 18, 2026 release.
The footage centers on protagonist Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, and offers quick glimpses of classic series touchstones, a typewriter, a first-aid kit, shotgun shells, along with plenty more that’s likely to reveal itself on repeat viewings.
The footage looks genuinely promising. Given Cregger’s track record in horror after Barbarian and Weapons, this might finally be the Resident Evil adaptation fans have been waiting for. Paul W.S. Anderson’s run has its defenders, and Welcome to Raccoon City was a reasonably loyal but uneven attempt, but neither has really delivered a great film in the franchise.
This new take, though, looks properly unsettling. In particular, the shots of a zombie-like creature sprinting toward the house are enough to send a chill down your spine.
